The Ruddle Report

Congratulations Current UGA Students…

Filed under: Tuition — ruddlereport @ 7:37 pm

Although tuition will be fixed for all new incoming freshman, tuition will continue to increase for students currently at the University.  This means the currently enrolled students will face yearly tuition hikes, possibly higher than those in the past, while newer students will be paying a lower rate.  It will be interesting to see if and how this plan will stand up in court, as it involves a certain group of people paying more for the same service than another group of people.

  1. I think its rediculous and brilliant that you provide more information to university students than SGA does, even after their pledge of transparency and promise to keep UGA students in the loop about important decisions. Ruddle for SGA Pres!

  2. You know, I hadn’t actually thought about the tuition plan from the legal point of view, but I don’t think it would stand up. No one is entitled to an education at UGA, so you can’t make the equity argument. And you say that new students pay a lower rate, is that true? What is the difference for this fall’s tuition prices? You know, the state will still be better off because they can charge people out the wazoo if they stay more than four years.
